Makinde Embarks on Eradicating Poverty, Rehabilitates Over 40 Destitute

The Oyo state weekly environmental day, which holds every Thursdays was observed in a special way this Thursday, as the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in conjunction with Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources unanimously went on evacuation exercise.
The exercise caught up with over 40 destitute at Iwo-Road under bridge, Mokola Roundabout etc within Ibadan, the state capital.
The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Fausat Saani, speaking to Double A Media, stated their plans to eradicate poverty in the land which is one of the ultimate goal of the new government.
She said, “…Gov. Seyi Mankind want to get rid of poverty in the state… So, we rehabilitate them, especially children, we put them in schools and also connect them with their parents.”
The Honourable Commissioner made known to the public the readiness of the new government to make more move on this. Hence, proper documentation of the children will be done with the Nigerian Civil Defense Commission.
“We raid around and bring the children for proper documentation with the Nigerian Civil Defense.”
The raid, caught up with beggars, little children, mentally sick people which cut across both Yorubas and Hausas.
Double A Media witnessed the return of the Hausa’s back to the Hausa community at Ibadan with an undertaken signed by the leaders and Oyo state government, anybody caught in such act shall face the law of the state as consensus were made with their leaders.
This evacuation of destitute raid was led by the Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Saani, the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry Mrs. Christiana Abioye, Ministry of Environment & Natural resources, Dr Bashir Olanrewaju, Directors, other officials and Nongovernmental organizations in the state, that are concern with the caught people.
The government, thus, promises the good people of Oyo state that such exercise will be experienced in the state continuously.
