
Armed Robbers Behead Policeman, Guard In Fuel Station Attack
Some armed robbers late on Saturday attacked the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation mega station in the Asa Dam area of Ilorin , the Kwara State capital .
The robbers were said to have during their operation beheaded a police sergeant and a security man at the station .
Our correspondent gathered that the men of the underworld struck when the workers of the station had left for their respective homes.
A resident of the area said , “ During the bloody incident , the armed robbers beheaded a sergeant and a security guard attached to the fuel station. ”
Checks revealed that the NNPC mega station had been under lock and key throughout Sunday throwing residents into a panicky situation that another round of fuel scarcity was imminent.
Police Public Relations Officer in the Kwara Police Command , Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident .
He added that the “ information is true . We have commenced investigation into the matter. ”
